# `batch_not_resumable` — Batch not resumable

**HTTP 409 Conflict**

Message: "Batch is in status <status> and cannot be resumed."

Envelope schema: `ErrorEnvelope` in [openapi.json](https://cascades.crscreditapi.com/openapi.json#/components/schemas/ErrorEnvelope) ([YAML](https://cascades.crscreditapi.com/openapi.yaml)).

## What causes it
- Resume applies only to an `interrupted` batch that still has `queued` rows (a worker restart or a cancel mid-run). Completed, running, or cancelled batches cannot be resumed.

## How to fix it
1. For a finished batch with failed rows, use `POST /batches/{id}/retry_failed` instead.
2. If the batch is still `running`, wait for `batch.completed` or poll `GET /batches/{id}`.

## Operations that return it
- [POST /batches/{id}/resume](/docs/api/batches/resume-batch) — Resume an interrupted batch
