# `cascades_create_workflow`

Create a new cascade (decision workflow) from a JSON definition, owned by the API key's account. Use this to turn a described policy into a runnable cascade: compose the node graph in `definition` and POST it. The cascade is active by default, so you can immediately run it with cascades_trigger_workflow using the returned id — pass active:false to create a draft instead. Sandbox accounts always receive a draft, which still runs in test mode.

## Input schema

| `trigger_type` | `string` | no | API-created cascades default to `manual` so they can be triggered through this API. Unknown values fall back to `manual`. One of: `manual`, `event`, `scheduled`. |
| `active` | `boolean` | no | Whether the cascade is immediately triggerable in live mode.
Omitted or `null` means `true`; pass `false` for a draft. Accounts
without production access always receive a draft regardless of
this value, and the response carries a `note` explaining why.
